Gears & Spokes Charity Bike & Walk Festival Greensboro NC April 28 2007

The Gears & Spokes ride comes to Greensboro with an afternoon start this year. Meet at the Lewis Recreation Center for packet pickup after 11:00 am with registration closing at 12:00 noon for a metric start 12:30 pm, 25-miler at 12:45 pm, or a walk leaving at 1 pm. The website is http://gearsandspokes.org. Early registration by Apr 2 is $20; after that it's $35. Recycles will be providing a trick bike stunt rider show in the parking lot. There's a fun walk too. Festivities begin at 3pm, with food, drink and music until 6pm. I'm not sure of the details. If you raise $100 for the charity, your entry fee will be waived. This event benefits several local charities, from food pantries to music to the children's museum to education to physically disabled adults to humanitarian efforts in Haiti to a camp for Katrina kids and more.
