NC State Games at Greensboro Country Park June 23-24

We saw more guys out today in skinsuits and on bikes than usual, and I wondered what was up. The funny thing was there were road and mtb types, and some of them seemed to be checking out particular parts of the course with special attention. I forgot all of this until I started looking at ride calendars for the weekend, and in addition to Blood, Sweat and Gears (50 mile/100 mile) in the mountains, I found out that the State Games of NC take place in Greensboro Country Park this weekend.

At this late date, I'm not sure if I'll put this on our calendar but I thought many of you would be interested in these events as a spectator if not a participant. I'm not sure if I'll be in town but if I am I may try to go watch and take photos for Roadskater.net.

There's a mountain bike race on the great trails there on Saturday, and a criterium on our beloved 1.6 mile loop on Sunday (meaning it will be disruptive of us to be training there, most likely, unless we are careful to do so during non-race time).

There's also an opening ceremony June 22 at Aggie Stadium:
Dale Brown is putting this together so it'll be fun and first class of course. As I say, if I'm in town, I'd like to see some of it.
