I just wanted to share an event here in Randolph county. The sk/ride starts out in Asheboro and goes through various parts of Randolph county. The roads are usually pretty decent but there are a lot of hills, great if your into that. I have spoken to the director and it is ok for skaters to come. I think this would be a great way to increase the awareness of skating in our area.If you are interested post a note here and I can help answer questions.  Registration costs $20 in advance $25 day of...inexpensive, and you get a T-shirt while they last. 13th Annual ROLLING IN RANDOLPH ~ SEPTEMBER 29!

Asheboro Parks & Recreation is sponsoring the 13th Annual Rolling in
Randolph Century Bike Ride on Saturday, September 29. The event will
start and finish at Memorial Park, located at the corner of Church and
Lanier Streets in downtown Asheboro. Registration begins at 7:15am.
The ride begins promptly at 8am (Rain or Shine). ROLLING IN RANDOLPH
offers three different routes: 25, 50 & 100 miles. The courses are
rolling to hilly. Routes take participants to the Western, Southern
and Eastern parts of Randolph County. Rest stops are located
approximately 10 - 15 miles. We promise you won't go hungry. For an

I'm new to the site but just

I'm new to the site but just wanted to mention an upcoming event in Baltimore in October.  I am with Rollerquest in Baltimore.  WAR (Washington Area Roadskaters) is putting together a city street skate in Baltimore for Sat October 6.  We are expecting some people from the Landskaters in Philly.  Would be cool to have some skaters come up from North Carolina as well.

Hi and welcome, Tommy. Thanks for joining and posting so quickly! When you get all the info together and want to put this on the Events calendar, just use the navigation menu at the top left and select Create / Event. From there it is not too difficult to enter the info (use US/Eastern for the time in your part of the country as I recall). Please ask here or Create / Site feedback if you need any help getting the info posted. Thanks again and welcome. Blake

Any Chance to Check the Route?

Hey Andy. Thanks for getting the route info. I may look at that on mapmyride.com but i'm not sure I'll get to it. Any chance you'll look at the route by car this week? (Not an assignment.) We are thinking 25, but might go for 50. It's 8 days before A2A so I'll have to ask timv to weigh in on his thoughts. I think he'll say there's no training effect within 10 days, at least as far as slow long distance goes. Regardless, thanks for the info. I hope we can make it.

I have driven the 25 mile course and skated on over half of it. The majority of it is on freshly paved roads. Great to skate on I may add. Only one section that I feel can be labeled as gatorback and that is still a lot smoother than some that we encounter on the t2t training rides. No major hills to worry about but nice rolling ones. All in all I think they picked out a very good route for everyone.

You rock, Andy. I looked at the maps a bit but didn't put anything into topo form. I'm wondering if there are any downhill turns or downhill stops on the 25 and 50. Maybe we'll ask them when we get there! Thanks for the effort. Let's hope for great weather. You may want to put some info on InlineNC too perhaps, or a link to this page. Thanks again.
