Try InlineNC Inline Skating (Rollerblading) Email Group

RSN2 is not for everybody, obviously, and I just wanted to mention that wherever you are in the world, if you prefer the semi-private atmosphere of an email group, you might check out my InlineNC Yahoo! group. We're up to 266 members now, and while the level of posting varies throughout the year, it's almost always about skating (events, equipment, technique, travel, training, charity, more). Members get access to the archive, which is a glorious attic of treasures from our collective past, filled with tips and tricks and tales of woe and inspiration.

We're from North Carolina, but more importantly, we're humans from Earth, and while we would never exclude Aliens (for there is always a larger group which defines us all), we are as yet unaware of their presence among us (unless you count me).

Check out the cities that visit RSN2.com and roadskater.net (at the bottom of this article) and you'll have an idea of a sampling of where InlineNC members live...all over the world, particularly along the USA east and west coast, around the Great Lakes, in skatey Canada, and so much more. We want more people from everywhere to show us their world, so join us to write or just lurk and listen. 

We don't always agree, which is good, but we love roadskating and our goal is to disagree when we must with mutual respect. Come join us here or there or both to share the love of skating, and the healing power of exercise for the mind and body (it's all both, right?), for our own good and whenever possible for the benefit of others who can't enjoy what we do so easily.

Let me encourage you as well to take some time to post here at RSN2.com. You may think nobody cares.

And millions of people search Google/Yahoo!/MSN/Ask/Dogpile for the kind of specialized knowledge and experience you have inside you and may not even value. Contained within you is a history of learning from successes and mistakes in sport and in life, and others are out there, perhaps very privately, timidly, wondering what to do, how to do it, whether it is worth it, should I go to the doctor, should I try inline skating (especially roadskating), do I dare eat a peach? "In the room the women come and go, talking of Michelangelo."

Share your skater's or biker's soul with the world if you would be so brave and generous. Someone helped you get here, so maybe consider helping someone on their road as well.

We mostly talk about skating, biking, running, exercise for charity, health, food (!), websites, sometimes music, data visualization, computers, open source software, gadgets, definitely heart rate monitors and global positioning systems, but you can help define this community by adding your knowledge and experience to the mix.

We can't do it without you. OK. We can. We will. But we'd rather have you with us creating something for now and for those who follow in our wheelmarks. RSN2 is ready when you are. Let me know if I can help.
